COZY
READING
Build a Fort
Have fun creating a cozy space to spend some time reading.
I’ve found that building a fort or reading nook can increase independent reading time or quiet browsing time for littles who haven’t begun to read yet. It’s a fun and creative activity and then allows for a motivating space to curl up with a book- solo, or with the fam! Or read to a giant elephant stuffie!
This can also be done outside in good weather or even in a snow fort in the winter!
As always, please be sure to guide and supervise any content your learner uses and the safety of the environment!

Permanent Reading Space
I am a fan of a reading corner.
It can be as simple or as elaborate as you would like.
It is simply a designated space in the house where your little has access to books and a place to browse and read.
This is a great space that they can come to when they want to read.
It is also a space that you can direct them to for reading time, if that is a part of your day.
Our reading corner is multi-purpose and a part of what I like to call- The Learning Corner.
